The 72 Spirits of the Ars Goetia
Beleth
13th spirit of the Ars Goetia · King · 85 legions
Beleth, also spelled Bileth or Byleth, is the thirteenth spirit, a mighty and terrible king of 85 legions of the Order of Powers. He rides a pale horse with trumpets and other instruments sounding before him and is described as furious at his first appearance. The Goetia is unusual in giving detailed etiquette for receiving him, including a hazel wand and a silver ring worn on the middle finger. His office is to cause love between men and women. Weyer adds that he was once of the Order of Powers and hopes to return to the seventh throne. The Commons file shows one of two variant seals.
