Sikhism
Guru Nanak, the ten Gurus, the Guru Granth Sahib and the Khalsa.
Sikhism was founded in the Punjab by Guru Nanak (1469–1539) and shaped by the nine Gurus who succeeded him. It teaches devotion to one God, Ik Onkar, through remembrance of the divine name, honest work and sharing with others, and rejects caste distinctions. This section covers the lives of the ten Gurus, the scripture Guru Granth Sahib, which Sikhs honour as their eternal Guru, the founding of the Khalsa in 1699 and its five articles of faith, the gurdwara and langar, and Sikh history from the Mughal era to the present.
