The 72 Spirits of the Ars Goetia
Naberius
24th spirit of the Ars Goetia · Marquis · 19 legions
Naberius, the twenty-fourth spirit, is described as a most valiant marquis of 19 legions. He appears as a black crane fluttering about the circle and speaks with a hoarse voice. The Goetia says he makes people cunning in all arts and sciences, especially rhetoric, and restores lost dignities and honours. Weyer calls him Naberus or Cerberus and gives him the form of a crow, an identification with the classical hound of the underworld that later writers often repeated. His seal is reproduced from the 1904 edition.
