Heptameron (Turner 1655)

The Heptameron, or Magical Elements, is a short manual of ceremonial magic falsely ascribed to the thirteenth-century physician Peter de Abano and printed with Agrippa's Latin works from the later sixteenth century. It explains how to draw the magic circle for a given hour and season, gives the names of the angels of the hours and times of the year, and supplies benedictions, exorcisms and a prayer for the four quarters. For each day of the week it lists the ruling angels, the spirits of the air and their king, the perfume, and a conjuration in Latin and English, ending with tables of the angels of the hours. This text is Robert Turner's English translation as printed in London in 1655, from the EEBO-TCP transcription.
