Of the Supreme Mysteries of Nature
Robert Turner, translator of the Fourth Book of Occult Philosophy, published this collection of magical treatises ascribed to Paracelsus in 1656; it was later reprinted as the Archidoxes of Magic. It opens with the Secrets of Alchemy discovered in the nature of the planets, then gives the Occult Philosophy, on consecrations, conjurations and characters, visions in dreams, spirits under the earth, hidden treasure, possession, tempests and the abuse of magic. The Mysteries of the Signs of the Zodiac set out the magnetical and sympathetical cure of diseases by seals for each sign, cast in alloyed metals at the proper hour, followed by celestial medicines and a few common secrets. The text follows the EEBO-TCP transcription of the 1656 printing.
