The 72 Spirits of the Ars Goetia
Alloces
52nd spirit of the Ars Goetia · Duke · 36 legions
Alloces, or Alocas, is the fifty-second spirit, a great, mighty and strong duke of 36 legions. He appears as a soldier riding a great horse, with a lion's face that is very red and with flaming eyes, and his speech is hoarse and loud. The Goetia credits him with teaching astronomy and the liberal sciences and giving good familiars. Weyer gives him as Allocer. His seal is one of the plates of the 1904 Mathers and Crowley edition.
