The 72 Spirits of the Ars Goetia
Amy
58th spirit of the Ars Goetia · President · 36 legions
Amy, or Avnas, is the fifty-eighth spirit, a great president of 36 legions. He appears first as a flaming fire and then takes human shape. The Goetia credits him with making people wonderfully knowledgeable in astrology and the liberal sciences, giving good familiars and revealing treasure kept by spirits. Weyer's entry adds that he was partly of the Order of Angels and partly of Potentates and hoped to return to the seventh throne, a claim Weyer himself doubted. His seal is reproduced from the 1904 Mathers and Crowley edition.
