The 72 Spirits of the Ars Goetia
Bathin
18th spirit of the Ars Goetia · Duke · 30 legions
Bathin, also called Mathim or Marthim, is the eighteenth spirit, a mighty and strong duke of 30 legions. He appears as a strong man with a serpent's tail, sitting on a pale horse. The Goetia says he knows the virtues of herbs and precious stones and can carry people suddenly from one country to another. Weyer calls him Bathym or Marthim and describes him as a great duke. The Commons file reproduces one of the two seal variants found in the Goetia material.
