The 72 Spirits of the Ars Goetia
Ipos
22nd spirit of the Ars Goetia · Earl and Prince · 36 legions
Ipos, the twenty-second spirit, is an earl and mighty prince ruling 36 legions. The Goetia describes him as an angel with a lion's head, a goose's feet and a hare's tail. He knows all things past, present and to come, and he makes people witty and bold. Weyer gives him as Ipes or Ayperos. The Commons file reproduces his seal from the 1904 Mathers and Crowley edition, which credits the drawing to the British Library manuscripts.
