The 72 Spirits of the Ars Goetia
Purson
20th spirit of the Ars Goetia · King · 22 legions
Purson, called Curson by Weyer, is the twentieth spirit, a great king ruling 22 legions drawn partly from the Order of Virtues and partly from Thrones. He appears as a man with a lion's face, carrying a viper and riding a bear, with trumpets sounding before him. The Goetia says he knows hidden things, discovers treasure, tells past and future, can take either a human or an aerial body, answers truly about earthly and divine matters and the creation of the world, and gives good familiars. His seal is printed in the 1904 edition.
