Abraxas Gems
Late-antique magical amulets
Engraved stones of the Roman period showing the cock-headed, serpent-legged figure called Abraxas or Abrasax, whose name totals 365 in Greek isopsephy. Once attributed to the Basilidian Gnostics, they are now understood as part of the broader magical amulet culture of the Greek Magical Papyri.
