The 72 Spirits of the Ars Goetia
Bifrons
46th spirit of the Ars Goetia · Earl · 6 legions
Bifrons, the forty-sixth spirit, is an earl ruling six legions, one of the smallest commands in the catalogue. He first appears as a monster and then in human shape. The Goetia credits him with teaching astrology, geometry and other arts, and the virtues of precious stones and woods. It also says he moves dead bodies from one place to another and lights seeming candles upon graves. Weyer's entry for Bifrons is close to this. His seal is reproduced from the 1904 Mathers and Crowley edition.
