The 72 Spirits of the Ars Goetia
Vine
45th spirit of the Ars Goetia · King and Earl · 36 legions
Vine, or Vinea, is the forty-fifth spirit, a great king and earl ruling 36 legions. He appears as a lion riding a black horse and holding a viper. The Goetia credits him with discovering hidden things, witches and wizards, telling past, present and future, building towers, throwing down great stone walls and raising storms on the waters. Weyer's Pseudomonarchia lists him as Vine with the same offices. His seal is among the plates of the 1904 edition.
