The 72 Spirits of the Ars Goetia
Forneus
30th spirit of the Ars Goetia · Marquis · 29 legions
Forneus, the thirtieth spirit, is a mighty and great marquis ruling 29 legions drawn partly from the Order of Thrones and partly from Angels. He appears as a great sea-monster. The Goetia credits him with teaching rhetoric and languages, giving a good name and causing a person to be loved by friends and enemies alike. Weyer's Pseudomonarchia offers a matching entry. His seal appears among the plates of the 1904 Mathers and Crowley edition.
