The 72 Spirits of the Ars Goetia
Furcas
50th spirit of the Ars Goetia · Knight · 20 legions
Furcas, the fiftieth spirit, is the only spirit of the catalogue ranked as a knight, ruling 20 legions. He appears as a cruel old man with a long beard and a hoary head, riding a pale horse and carrying a sharp weapon. The Goetia credits him with teaching philosophy, astrology, rhetoric, logic, chiromancy and pyromancy in all their parts. Weyer's Pseudomonarchia lists him with the same rank. His seal appears among the 1904 plates.
