The 72 Spirits of the Ars Goetia
Gaap
33rd spirit of the Ars Goetia · President and Prince · 66 legions
Gaap, also written Tap, is the thirty-third spirit, a great president and mighty prince ruling 66 legions of the Order of Potentates. He appears in human shape when the Sun is in the southern signs, going before four great kings. The Goetia credits him with making people ignorant or knowing, teaching philosophy and the liberal sciences, causing love or hatred and carrying people swiftly from one kingdom to another. The text also links him closely with Amaymon, king of the East. His seal is reproduced from the 1904 edition.
