The 72 Spirits of the Ars Goetia
Haagenti
48th spirit of the Ars Goetia · President · 33 legions
Haagenti, the forty-eighth spirit, is a great president of 33 legions who appears as a great bull with gryphon's wings and then in human form. The Goetia makes him a spirit of transformation: he makes people wise and instructs them in many subjects, transmutes all metals into gold and changes wine into water and water into wine. Weyer's Pseudomonarchia has a parallel entry. His alchemical offices are often cited in discussions of the Goetia's links with Renaissance natural magic. His seal is one of the 1904 plates.
