Halphas, also called Malthus or Malthas, is the thirty-eighth spirit, a great earl ruling 26 legions. He appears in the form of a stock-dove and speaks with a hoarse voice. The Goetia's account is martial: he builds towers and furnishes them with ammunition and weapons, and sends men of war to their appointed places. Weyer's Pseudomonarchia gives a matching entry. The Commons file for his seal uses the spelling Halphus, taken from the 1904 plates.
