The 72 Spirits of the Ars Goetia
Marchosias
35th spirit of the Ars Goetia · Marquis · 30 legions
Marchosias, the thirty-fifth spirit, is a great and mighty marquis of 30 legions, formerly of the Order of Dominations. He appears as a wolf with gryphon's wings and a serpent's tail, breathing fire, and then in human shape. The Goetia calls him a strong fighter who answers truly and is faithful to the exorcist, and it records his hope of returning to the seventh throne after 1,200 years. Weyer tells the same story of his hoped-for restoration. His seal is one of the 1904 plates.
