The 72 Spirits of the Ars Goetia
Orobas
55th spirit of the Ars Goetia · Prince · 20 legions
Orobas, the fifty-fifth spirit, is a great and mighty prince ruling 20 legions. He first appears as a horse and then as a man. The Goetia credits him with telling things past, present and to come, giving dignities and prelacies and the favour of friends and foes, and answering truly about divinity and the creation of the world. Unusually, the text describes him as very faithful to the exorcist and says he will not allow him to be tempted by any spirit. Weyer's Pseudomonarchia gives a parallel entry. His seal is one of the 1904 plates.
