The 72 Spirits of the Ars Goetia
Paimon
9th spirit of the Ars Goetia · King · 200 legions
Paimon, the ninth spirit, is a great king who is said to be very obedient to Lucifer and to rule 200 legions, partly of the Order of Angels and partly of Potentates. He appears as a man crowned and riding a dromedary, preceded by a host of spirits with trumpets and cymbals, and roars on arrival. The Goetia credits him with teaching all arts and sciences and secret things, giving dignities and familiars, and binding others to the operator's will. When he is called alone, two lesser kings, Labal and Abalim, are said to attend him. The Commons file shows the 1904 seal; manuscripts vary in detail.
