The 72 Spirits of the Ars Goetia
Sabnock
43rd spirit of the Ars Goetia · Marquis · 50 legions
Sabnock, or Savnok, is the forty-third spirit, a mighty, great and strong marquis of 50 legions. He appears as an armed soldier with a lion's head, riding a pale horse. The Goetia credits him with building high towers, castles and cities and furnishing them with armour, with afflicting people with wounds and sores full of worms, and with giving good familiars. Weyer records him as Sabnac or Salmac. His seal is one of the 1904 plates drawn after the Sloane manuscripts.
