The 72 Spirits of the Ars Goetia
Seere
70th spirit of the Ars Goetia · Prince · 26 legions
Seere, also Sear or Seir, is the seventieth spirit, a mighty prince of 26 legions under Amaymon, king of the East. He appears as a beautiful man riding a winged horse. The Goetia stresses his speed: he goes and comes, brings things to pass suddenly and can pass over the whole earth in the twinkling of an eye. He reveals the truth about theft and hidden treasure and is described as indifferently good or bad. Seere is one of the four spirits absent from Weyer's Pseudomonarchia. The Commons file shows a variant of his seal.
