The 72 Spirits of the Ars Goetia
Valefor
6th spirit of the Ars Goetia · Duke · 10 legions
Valefor, the sixth spirit, is a mighty duke of ten legions who appears as a lion with the head of an ass, bellowing. The Goetia describes him as a good familiar who nonetheless tempts people to steal. Weyer's Pseudomonarchia gives a similar account under the spelling Valefar or Malaphar. His seal appears in the 1904 plates alongside the other spirits of the first decade.
