Aratron is the Olympic spirit of Saturn in the Arbatel of Magic, a short Latin grimoire printed at Basel in 1575 and translated into English by Robert Turner in 1655. The Arbatel describes the Olympic spirits as governors of the world's 196 provinces under God, and assigns Aratron 49 of them. His gifts follow Saturnine correspondences: the text says he can turn things to stone, teach alchemy, magic and medicine, give familiars, make the barren fruitful and grant long life. The sigil, or character, printed with his entry is reproduced in later editions and on Commons as a redrawn SVG.
