Bethor is the Olympic spirit of Jupiter in the Arbatel of Magic (1575). He governs 42 of the 196 Olympic provinces and is said to command a large hierarchy of kings, princes, dukes, counsellors and ministers, together with many legions. The Arbatel credits him with answering truly, bringing precious stones and remedies, reconciling the spirits of the air and giving familiars, and says he can prolong life to seven hundred years if God wills. In the Arbatel's scheme of history, Bethor's turn of government began shortly before the Christian era. His character is reproduced on Commons as an SVG.
