Second Pentacle of Saturn
Key of Solomon · Mathers 1889, fig. 12 · 2 of 7 · Psalm 72:8
The Second Pentacle of Saturn is said to be of great value against adversities and especially for repressing the pride of spirits. Its centre is the ancient SATOR AREPO TENET OPERA ROTAS word square, a palindrome known from Roman Pompeii. The surrounding versicle is from Psalm 72:8, 'His dominion shall be also from the one sea to the other, and from the flood unto the world's end'. Mathers prints the Saturn pentacles first, since Saturn heads the traditional planetary order.
