The Pentacles of Solomon

Fourth Pentacle of Saturn

Key of Solomon · Mathers 1889, fig. 14 · 4 of 7 · Psalm 109:18

The Fourth Pentacle of Saturn is described as serving for operations of ruin, destruction and death, and, when perfectly made, for spirits who bring news, called from the south. Its centre holds the letter Yod within a triangle, surrounded by Hebrew divine names. The versicle is from Psalm 109:18, 'As he clothed himself with cursing like as with a garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones'. Mathers prints the Saturn pentacles first, since Saturn heads the traditional planetary order.
