A handbook on witchcraft by the Milanese friar Francesco Maria Guazzo, compiled from earlier authorities and illustrated with woodcuts that became some of the most reproduced images of witches. It discusses the pact, the sabbath, maleficium and remedies against witchcraft. The 1929 English translation makes it accessible to students of demonology and early modern religious thought as a representative primary text.
