Gods and Myths of Northern Europe

A classic introduction to the religion of the pre-Christian Germanic and Scandinavian peoples by a respected folklorist and scholar of Norse literature. Davidson surveys the principal deities, including Odin, Thor, Freyr and Freyja, along with cosmology, the cult of the dead and the end of the world. Concise and readable, it remains a recommended starting point for students and modern Heathens.
