Jewish Mystical Autobiographies
Book of Visions and Book of Secrets
Morris Faierstein translates two remarkable mystical diaries: Hayyim Vital's Sefer ha-Hezyonot, recording dreams, visions and his relationship with Isaac Luria, and Isaac Safrin of Komarno's Megillat Setarim, a Hasidic master's account of revelations. With introductions and notes, this Classics of Western Spirituality volume offers rare first-person windows into Kabbalistic religious experience. Few documents of Jewish mysticism are as personal or revealing.
