Masks of Misrule

Nigel Jackson explores the figure of the horned god in European folklore and witchcraft, from Cernunnos and the Wild Hunt to mumming, guising, the Devil of the sabbath and seasonal misrule. Combining folklore, myth and esoteric interpretation with his own illustrations, the book offers a symbolic portrait aimed at practitioners of traditional witchcraft and readers interested in the mythic background of the horned god.
