On the Inconstancy of Witches

An English translation of the Tableau de l'inconstance des mauvais anges et démons by Pierre de Lancre, the judge who led the 1609 witch-hunt in the French Basque Labourd. His work offers one of the most detailed accounts of the sabbath ever written, shaped by his view of Basque culture.
