Picatrix is the Latin version of an Arabic compendium of astral magic, the Ghayat al-Hakim, usually dated to the tenth or eleventh century. This translation by Dan Attrell and David Porreca renders the Latin text into English with scholarly introduction and notes. The work covers talismanic image magic, planetary invocations and the philosophical rationale for drawing down celestial influences, and it is a key source for medieval and Renaissance magical thought.
