The Hieroglyphics of Horapollo
An English translation of the late antique Greek Hieroglyphica, which claims to explain the symbolic meaning of Egyptian signs. Though largely mistaken about real hieroglyphs, the book shaped Renaissance emblem culture and is an early source for the ouroboros as a sign of the universe.
