The Holy Table of John Dee
Table of Practice · Dee and Kelley, 1580s
The lettered table on which Dee and Kelley set the Sigillum Dei and the shew-stone during their angelic sessions. Its border carries twenty-one letters of the angelic alphabet, and its centre a square of letters and the seals of the heptarchic angels. The design was dictated in the sessions of 1582 and survives in Dee's papers and in Casaubon's 1659 publication.
