The Pentacles of Solomon

Sixth Pentacle of Jupiter

Key of Solomon · Mathers 1889, fig. 23 · 6 of 7 · Psalm 22:16–17

The Sixth Pentacle of Jupiter is described as serving for protection against all earthly dangers, provided it is regarded devoutly and its versicle repeated daily. Around its cross it names the four rulers of the elements: Seraph, Kerub, Ariel and Tharsis. The versicle is Psalm 22:16–17, 'They pierced my hands and my feet, I may tell all my bones', read in the Christian tradition as prophetic of the crucifixion. The Jupiter series is chiefly concerned with wealth, honour and protection, the planet's traditional benefits.
