Seventh Pentacle of Mars
Key of Solomon · Mathers 1889, fig. 31 · 7 of 7 · Psalm 105:32–33
The Seventh Pentacle of Mars, the last of the series, is associated in Mathers' text with raising hail and tempest. Its design uses the divine names El and Yiai together with spirit names formed from Hebrew and so-called celestial letters. The versicle is Psalm 105:32–33, 'He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land', recalling the plagues of Egypt. The Mars series reflects the planet's association with conflict, strength and protection from harm.
