First Pentacle of the Sun
Key of Solomon · Mathers 1889, fig. 32 · 1 of 7
The First Pentacle of the Sun is described as the countenance of Shaddai, the Almighty, at whose aspect all creatures obey and angelic spirits do reverence on bended knees. It shows a face within a circle, with the name El Shaddai and the name of the angel Metatron. Its Latin inscription declares that all things obey the One by whom all things were made. The solar series combines divine names of majesty with the planet's associations with rule, renown and illumination.
