Fourth Pentacle of Mercury
Key of Solomon · Mathers 1889, fig. 47 · 4 of 5
The Fourth Pentacle of Mercury is described as proper for acquiring understanding of all created things and for knowing hidden things, and for commanding spirits called Allatori to act as messengers. A twelve-pointed figure surrounds the name El at its centre. Its inscription reads, 'Wisdom and virtue are in his house, and the knowledge of all things remaineth with him for ever'. The five pentacles of Mercury concern knowledge, communication and the opening of what is closed.
