The Pentacles of Solomon

Fifth Pentacle of Mercury

Key of Solomon · Mathers 1889, fig. 48 · 5 of 5 · Psalm 24:7

The Fifth Pentacle of Mercury, the last of the series, is said to command the spirits of Mercury and to open doors however they are closed, so that nothing can resist it. It bears the names El Ab and YHVH. The versicle is Psalm 24:7, 'Lift up your heads, O ye gates, and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors, and the King of Glory shall come in'. The five pentacles of Mercury concern knowledge, communication and the opening of what is closed.
