Fifth Pentacle of the Moon
Key of Solomon · Mathers 1889, fig. 53 · 5 of 6 · Psalm 68:1
The Fifth Pentacle of the Moon is described as serving to obtain answers in sleep and as a protection against night phantoms; Mathers' text also links its angel with destruction and the defeat of enemies. It bears YHVH and Elohim, a lunar character and the angels Iachadiel and Azarel. The versicle is Psalm 68:1, 'Let God arise, and let His enemies be scattered'. The six lunar pentacles deal largely with water, journeys, sleep and protection by night.
