Fourth Pentacle of the Sun
Key of Solomon · Mathers 1889, fig. 35 · 4 of 7 · Psalm 13:3–4
The Fourth Pentacle of the Sun is described as enabling the operator to see spirits when they appear invisible to those who invoke them, so that once it is uncovered they become visible. It bears YHVH and Adonai at its centre. The versicle is Psalm 13:3–4, 'Lighten mine eyes that I sleep not in death, lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him'. The solar series combines divine names of majesty with the planet's associations with rule, renown and illumination.
