Fifth Pentacle of the Sun
Key of Solomon · Mathers 1889, fig. 36 · 5 of 7 · Psalm 91:11–12
The Fifth Pentacle of the Sun is said to serve to invoke spirits who can carry a person from place to place over long distances in a short time. The spirit names in it are written in the alphabet known as Passing of the River. The versicle is Psalm 91:11–12, 'He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways; they shall bear thee up in their hands'. The solar series combines divine names of majesty with the planet's associations with rule, renown and illumination.
