The Pentacles of Solomon

Second Pentacle of Venus

Key of Solomon · Mathers 1889, fig. 40 · 2 of 5 · Song of Songs 8:6

The Second Pentacle of Venus is described as proper for obtaining grace and honour, for all things belonging to Venus and for accomplishing one's desires. The letters around and within its pentagram form the names of spirits of Venus. The versicle is from the Song of Songs 8:6, 'Place me as a signet upon thine heart, as a signet upon thine arm, for love is strong as death'. Mathers gives five pentacles of Venus, most of them concerned with love, grace and favour.
