La sociedad secreta Abakuá

narrada por viejos adeptos

by Lydia Cabrera

Cabrera's classic ethnography of Abakuá, based on the testimony of elderly members, records the society's myths, including the story of Sikán, its offices and its ritual vocabulary. Written in Spanish, it remains a foundational source for the study of Afro-Cuban initiatory traditions.
