The Magus of Java

Teachings of an Authentic Taoist Immortal

by Kosta Danaos

A first-person account of the author's apprenticeship to John Chang, a Chinese-Indonesian healer in Java, and of the secretive neigong school called Mo Pai. It combines memoir, descriptions of reported demonstrations of qi, an outline of the school's levels and the author's own speculations about energy and physics. Its claims are uncorroborated and it is best read as personal testimony.
