Zohar

Daniel Matt's selection for the Classics of Western Spirituality series offers a compact doorway into the Zohar before his monumental Pritzker translation. A careful choice of passages on creation, the sefirot, the feminine Shekhinah, the soul and mystical eros is accompanied by a substantial introduction and line-by-line notes. It is ideal for readers who want to taste the Zohar's imaginative Aramaic homilies without committing to a multi-volume edition, and remains a dependable classroom text.
