Caesar's own account of his campaigns in Gaul between 58 and 50 BCE, written in a plain third-person style. Book VI contains his famous description of Gaulish society, the druids and the gods, which is a key though partial source for Celtic religion. Readers should remember that Caesar wrote as a conqueror with political aims.
