S. L. MacGregor Mathers' 1889 edition of the Clavicula Salomonis, compiled and translated from several manuscripts in the British Museum. The grimoire presents instructions for planetary hours, purification, consecration of tools, pentacles and the conjuration of spirits. Although Mathers' editorial choices have been criticized, this edition shaped modern ceremonial magic and the Golden Dawn tradition, and it remains a historically important version of one of the best-known grimoires.
